From 2009, the UK Government will require Advanced Passenger Information for all passengers travelling internationally into and out of the UK. This is being rolled out over the coming year. Advance Passenger Information means providing certain information to the authorities before passengers travel, such as passport details and, where necessary, contact information. This can be completed through the airline systems such as BA.com. BA will be required to provide Advance Passenger Information for the following routes: From 31 May 2009 - Saudi Arabia From 2 June 2009 - Australia and Singapore From 3 June 2009 - France, Gibraltar, Kuwait and Mauritius From 17 June 2009 - Italy, Luxembourg and Netherlands This information is compulsory and is required for the purposes of ensuring aviation safety and security.
